What you should know about this position:
The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible for increasing customer satisfaction through resolving issues with suppliers, products, and services. The Manager is also responsible for empowering the highest degree of food safety protection from our suppliers.
Act as the central point of contact for quality-related issues as reported by contracting, purchasing, contracted customers and contracted customers vendors, thus facilitating rapid resolution of problems as they are communicated.
Conduct critical Supply Chain assessments on Avendra suppliers in the form of Meet-the-Truck Audits.
Perform Food Safety Audits and Reviews at national and regional suppliers to mitigate customer risk and ensure the safety and quality of processes and products. Document and ensure resolution on all critical observances. Follow-up with the Contracting Representative with all pertinent information in approving or disapproving the supplier for Avendra.
Correspond, coordinate and participate in Contracting Initiatives including Coordinated Distributor Reviews (CDR’s), Regional Field Advisory Teams (RFAT’s), and Product Category evaluations. Provide detailed value assessments on performance, product, and service related aspects.
Perform Market Basket and Food Optimization studies on an as needed basis. Leverage Avendra technology and product expertise to achieve study goals.
Experience in quality assurance, food science, food manufacturing, or culinary discipline, including experience communicating with various levels of senior management
Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing in both English and Spanish preferred
Strong analytical skills
Excellent problem resolution skills
Experience with administrative skills including Microsoft Office applications
Overnight Travel Requirements: 25-50%, length of each trip: 3-5 nights
