Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager for HOME CHEF

The FSQA manager is responsible for providing proactive leadership and instruction in the area of food safety, quality, sanitation, and employee safety in the production facility. This position is responsible for mitigating food safety risk by verifying the implementation of corporate FSQA policies and procedures and actively living out our value of â€œcustomer firstâ€? in daily operations.
Manage in-plant compliance to all corporate food safety, quality, sanitation, and employee safety-related policies, procedures, and strategies
Manage in-plant compliance of the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) plan and prerequisite programs
Represent Home Chef and serve as on-site point person for all regulatory and third party inspections and partners with the plant management team to develop necessary corrective and preventative action plans
Lead quality program to achieve and maintain an error rate <1.5%
Partner with production, procurement, and warehouse to assure the quality of the final meal kit product from the time of ingredient receipt until the customer receives the product.
Investigates quality complaints/issues and develops written corrective actions
Develops plant FSQA personnel to drive a higher performance level
Actively promotes continuous improvement in all areas of the FSQA department
Conducts routine environmental swabbing for indicator organisms and pathogens and takes corrective actions and necessary
Maintain all necessary FSQA documentation pertaining to food safety, quality, sanitation, and employee safety.
Conduct ongoing training for all FSQA staff
Complete daily observations for GMP, sanitation effectiveness, temperature control, and sanitary operating conditions and improve overall metrics associated with the requirements

5+ years experience in quality assurance, food safety, food distribution, food manufacturing, supply chain or related field.
Associate or Bachelorâ€™s degree in food science, food technology, microbiology, or related field preferred
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong leadership skills
Minimum 1 year managerial experience required
Previous experience with GFSI, SQF, FDA, and USDA inspections.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks/priorities
Flexible availability to work some weekends
HACCP certified preferred
