Perrigo Nutritionals, located in Georgia, VT is looking for a Food Safety Professional to join their team.
Role/Responsibilities:
- Ensure Food Safety and Quality plans are consistent with and meet regulatory, certification body and customer expectations
- Reassess Food Safety and Quality plans as part of routine assessment and resulting from change control management capturing changes in procedures, processes, ingredients, regulations, industry best practices and customer expectations
- Develop and implement training plans for HACCP, HARPC, FSMA, SQF, cGMP, allergen control, foreign material control and SSOPs
- Conduct routine auditing activities focused on monitoring, verification and validation activities that ensure all products meet Food Safety and Quality plans
- Lead HACCP/HARPC/SQF team meetings and perform required reviews
- Analyze processes, identify trends and anomalies, and continuously evaluate plant programs for improvement
- Development and maintaining Pre-requisite Programs that support regulatory and SQF requirements; including but not limited to Management Commitment, Document Control, Records, Specifications, pre and post sanitation monitoring programs, internal audit programs, Verification, and Product
- Support analytical data collection related to Food Safety and Quality, drive key performance indicators (KPI’s) and use it to promote continuous improvement
- Lead Food Defense activities and training
- This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Food Safety and requires significant interaction with operations, hygiene, and other quality experts.
Requirements & Experience:
- BA or BS in Food Science, Biology or Chemistry and 5-10 years’ experience in quality assurance in the food industry
- Work experience in quality including root cause analysis, quality management, continuous improvement, and nonconformities, corrective and preventive actions
- Management of Food Safety and Quality in a high-volume food manufacturing environment for at least 5 and preferably 10 years.
- HACCP / PCQI / SQF Certification from a nationally recognized and accredited training firm
- Experienced in FSMA and SQF
- 5+ years facilitating food safety/quality related training events.
- Must have strong organizational and leadership skills
- Able to collaborate with all departments and personnel within the organization to advance/build food safety and quality
- Strong problem-solving ability combined with corrective/preventive action implementation skills
- Strong computer skills with experience using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
- Manage multiple projects
